Dale Velzy, “The Hawk”, shaped from 1944 until passing in 2005. Velzy started making boards from wood, was the first board builder to put his brand on a board, and was a pioneer of many break-through materials and designs. It was only natural that he teamed up with Randy French and Surftech over 15 years ago to create some of the most beautiful, functional boards ever made. We are proud to continue to honor Velzy with a very special, limited edition of this timeless surfboard, built in tooling cast from Dale’s original hand-shaped master and permanently laminated with Velzy’s traditional wood fin.
